CyberPodium Privacy Policy
CyberPodium is an independent, community-led learning platform. This policy explains the personal information we use to run account access, learning progress, practice tests, and community features. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising.
1. Who operates CyberPodium
CyberPodium operates this website as an independent learning project. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, use the Contact page or write to cyberpodiumyt@gmail.com. Please include the email address on your account and enough detail to identify your request.
2. Information we collect
When you create or use an account, we process your name, username, email address, policy-consent record, account status, course or test enrolments, progress, results, access-code activity, and any discussion content you choose to post. We may also process basic technical data needed to secure and operate the site, such as request and error information.
We do not ask for government identification, bank-card details, or private email content. Passwords are processed by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to CyberPodium administrators.
3. Why we use information
We use this information to create and verify accounts, save learning progress, provide paid, assigned, or video-unlocked access, generate certificates in the browser, moderate community content, prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, and improve learning content. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these uses are based on providing the requested service, your consent, our legitimate interests in security and operation, or legal obligations.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We use Firebase services operated by Google for authentication and database functions. Embedded YouTube videos may process information under YouTube's own terms and privacy practices when you play them. These providers process information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the platform, or in connection with a lawful investigation.
5. No sale or advertising use
CyberPodium does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not provide account or learning data to third parties for their targeted advertising. We do not knowingly use learning data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Security and Service-Risk Notice
We use HTTPS, Firebase Authentication, and access-controlled Firestore rules to reduce risk. However, no online service, cloud provider, device, or network can guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted availability. A security incident, service outage, software defect, or compromise can occur despite reasonable safeguards.
Please use a strong, unique password, protect your device, and do not submit sensitive information that is unnecessary for learning. If we learn of a security incident, we will investigate, take reasonable steps to contain it, and notify affected people or authorities when applicable law requires it. CyberPodium does not promise that data will never be compromised. Our liability is limited only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law; this notice does not remove rights or remedies that law does not allow us to limit.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep account and learning records while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion through the contact details above. We will verify the request and aim to respond within 30 days where practical; some records may be retained when required or permitted by law.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. We will honour applicable rights requests after verifying identity. These rights can be limited in specific circumstances under applicable law.
9. Children
CyberPodium is intended for people who can lawfully consent to online services where they live. Do not create an account for a child if parental or guardian consent is required unless that consent has been obtained.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The effective date and version at the top show the current policy. Material changes may require a new acknowledgement when you next create or use an account.
